Deeds, wills, estate inventories, land patents, letters, drafts, receipts, probate papers, military orders, indentures, bills of sale of slaves, oaths of office, and military commissions associated with individuals and families of Long Island. Some documents of note are: deeds to land at Monhansacke (Shelter Island) by James Farrett and sealed by Theophilus Eaton, Governor of Connecticut (1641); inventory of the Richard Willets estate in Oyster Bay, verified by Edward Hyde Cornbury, Governor of New York and New Jersey (1704); letter to Nathaniel Huntting from Joseph Hand concerning British frigate near Montauk Point (1813); and various documents from the Clinton Academy. Many documents have typed transcriptions.
